What are the steps to join
as an Operating Unit?

RBI approval
Obtain approval from the RBI under the PSS Act 2007

Participation letter
Submit a duly signed participation confirmation letter to the Bharat Connect Central Unit.

Letter of authorisation
Submit a letter of authorisation to the Bharat Connect Central Unit allowing it to carry out settlements in Bharat Connect and to debit charges, fees, penalties to its designated account with the RBI.

Billers’ details
Submit details of all Billers onboarded by the bank.

Association with other OUs
Advise the Bharat Connect Central Unit of the sponsorship and settlement arrangements that the bank may have with other Operating Units.

Application to access Bharat Connect
Submit an application letter to access the Bharat Connect platform.

Sign the agreement
Sign the participation agreement with the Bharat Connect Central Unit.

Go live
Partnership with the OU will be confirmed only after receiving final authorisation by the RBI.

Secure a sponsor bank
Non-bank financial institutions must secure a sponsor bank
in order to participate in Bharat Connect.

Participation letter
The non-bank must submit a duly signed participation confirmation letter along with a board resolution to the Bharat Connect Central Unit.

Sponsor bank's details
The participation confirmation letter must include details of the sponsor bank along with the names of other Operating Units sponsored by it.

Letter of authorisation
The sponsor bank must submit a letter of authorisation to the Bharat Connect Central Unit allowing it to carry out settlements in Bharat Connect and to debit charges, fees, penalties to its designated account with the RBI.

Submit details of all Billers onboarded by the non-bank.

The sponsor bank must submit an application for accessing Bharat Connect.
